What is Excessive facial hair ?
Excessive facial hair, known as hirsutism, refers to unwanted, coarse hair growth on the face, often seen in women. This condition is commonly due to hormonal imbalances, particularly an excess of androgens (male hormones). It can also be caused by conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), certain medications, and genetics. Other contributing factors include obesity and insulin resistance, which may exacerbate hirsutism.
